Cruise the Bosphorus, refreshed by sea breezes as you sail past palaces and the meeting point of East and West. Ottoman Empire was one of the largest empires in the history. Bursa was its first capital. The city that is settled on the northwestern slopes of Mount Uludağ is known as "Yesil Bursa" (meaning "Green Bursa") from its beautiful parks and gardens located throughout the city. Bursa offers fresh air from the lush vegetation and the vast forests as well as all the advantages of a big city, by being one of the fourth biggest cities in Turkey. It is also known for its peaches, chestnuts, silk industry, its thermal baths, interesting museums (notably a rich museum of archaeology) as well as its famous ski resort.

You will experience a magnificent view and clean, fresh air climbing up Uludağ Mountain by cable car arriving to top of mountain which is 2.486 metres above sea level. Barbeque lunch will be provided on the mountain. Skiing options are limited to only winter months. Returning to Istanbul, you will see the famous, old tree which is more than 600 years old!

This full-day sightseeing tour of Istanbul provides a perfect introduction to the city that straddles Europe and Asia.

When Istanbul was known as Constantinople, it was the capital of the Roman Empire and the wealthiest metropolis in Europe. On this city tour you’ll visit Istanbul’s 4 most important historic sites with a local guide.

The Blue Mosque is an iconic monument in both the Turkish and Islamic worlds. The stunning structure was built in the classical Ottoman style, and features 6 towering minarets and 260 windows that provide illumination for its vast inner chamber that is lined with more than 20,000 Iznik tiles.

In the 6th century, the Hagia Sophia was built by the Emperor Justinian. After the Ottoman conquest, it was converted to a mosque and later converted into a museum, featuring many beautiful Byzantine mosaics.

You’ll have time to shop at the Grand Bazaar – its 58 streets are lined with more than 4,000 shops. It is one of the world's largest covered markets, and is particularly known for its jewelry, leather, pottery, spices, and carpets.

Take in the sites of the historic city center and the main port, dating back to the Ottoman and Byzantine empires. In the district of Eminonu, you will stop to explore the delights of Istanbul’s Spice Bazaar, also known as the Egyptian Bazaar, where the air is filled with the aroma of cinnamon, caraway, saffron, mint, thyme, and every other conceivable herb and spice. Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At 9:00 am you will be picked up from your hotel to begin the tour of the Topkapi Palace.

One of the largest and oldest palaces in the world, Topkapi is the crown jewel of the Ottoman Empire. With its treasury and exotic buildings overlooking the Golden Horn, walking Topkapi's grounds offers gorgeous views of the city and the nearby Bosphorus.

Visit the Harem, the apartments where the sultans lived together with their families. This stunning architectural styles ranging from the 16th to the 19th century, is of the greatest importance in terms of architectural history.

You will be taken on a tour of Dolmabahce Palace, home to the last of the Ottoman Sultans. Admire one of the most glamorous palaces in the world, once the administrative heart of the Ottoman Empire.

Escape the bustle of Istanbul for a leisurely cruise across the Sea of Marmara to the unspoiled island of Büyükada, and pass by the smaller Princes' Islands that surround Büyükada along the way.

Riding around the island by horse-drawn carriage will take you back to a more gracious age, when the 19th-century bourgeoisie would stroll down to the waterfront for afternoon promenades.

Lunch will be served at a traditional fish restaurant on the waterfront, where you can see Istanbul's Asian shoreline. Some of the Turkish capital's most popular sights can also be seen from the sea. Check out Topkapi Palace, Leander's Tower, and Uskudar, and then hop back on the ferry to Istanbul, having had a tranquil day that harks back to Turkey's Golden Age.

Return to spend some time on Istiklal Street in Taksim Square. This is a famous center and a common meeting point for locals filled with restaurants, shops, hotels, where you will truly experience modern Istanbul. Enjoy some time shopping on Istiklal Street, the long elegant pedestrian shopping street. You can find shops here of every kind, including clothing, books, jewelry, handmade crafts and souvenirs.

BURSA CITY TOUR

Departing from your hotel in Istanbul at 09:00 you will taken on a 2-hour drive to the city of Bursa.

The streets of Bursa, the first capital of the Ottoman Empire, are filled with relics of the past, including historical buildings and artifacts that tell the story of Turkish history, culture and civilization. Often called "Green Bursa," the city is also filled with lush parks and gardens, vast forests, and orchards.

You will visit the Green Mosque, also known as the Mosque of Mehmed I. The complex consists of a mosque, mausoleum, madrasah, kitchen and bath. Because the greater part of the Green Mosque is covered with bluish, green tiles, they symbolize the brilliance of “Green Mosque”. The mosque is considered as a masterpiece with its fascinating tiles due to the extra tiles at the place of the Sultan, decorated as flowers.

See the Castle of Bursa, home to many Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman states, after the 14th century. The castle became a famous visit point of voyagers throughout history.

Before the day is done, visit historic bazaars and see Bursa's beautiful silk, sample famous local Turkish products, including roasted chestnuts, honey, olives and Turkish sweets.

Uludağ Mountain Tour and Skiing

Experience a magnificent view and clean, fresh air climbing up Uludağ Mountain by cable car arriving to top of mountain which is 2.486 metres above sea level. Enjoy a full-day trip to Bursa, an Ottoman capital city filled with fascinating relics of the past. Explore this beautiful green city situated on the slopes of Mount Uludağ.

Barbeque lunch will be provided on the mountain. Skiing options are limited to only winter months. Returning from the mountain, you will see the famous old tree which is more than 600 years old!

Take the cable car to the Mt. Uludağ, where you will enjoy a BBQ lunch. Enjoy the winter season with snow games and skiing on the mountain. Afterwards, you will visit the Ulucami (Grand Mosque), built between 1399 and 1400 and the largest mosque in Bursa. There, you can admire its exquisite calligraphy and the great craftsmanship.

As we return from the mountain trip, we will stop to visit the historical 600-year-old Inkaya plane tree.

TRAVEL TO KONYA

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At 9:00 am you will check-out and be picked up from your hotel to begin the trip by minivan to Konya.

As we travel to the city of Konya, we will stop at the city of Söğöt and visit the Tomb of Ertuğrul Gazi, the father of the founder of the Ottoman Empire, and his wife, Halima Hatun. You will visit the actual burial site of the warrior and chieftain portrayed on the Turkish television series Diriliş: Ertuğrul.

You will also stop to visit the Söğüt Ertuğrul Gazi Museum. Originally the three-story wooden building was an Ottoman dispensary built in the early 1900s. However, after restoration in 2001, the building was opened as a museum. The museum has many ethnographic items from the Bilecik area Yörüks: old clothes, carpets, weighing instruments, flags, weapons and coin purses. There are also archaeological items such as earthenware kitchen tools from the Roman Empire and coins from the Roman, Byzantine and Ottoman eras.

As you continue on your drive to Konya, you will make another stop to the lovely city of Eskişehir, for a quick stop for lunch and a tour of the city center.

After arrival in Konya and check-in to hotel, the remaining day and evening is free to spend resting at the hotel or sightseeing as you wish. Transportation will be available to tour the city center for those wishing to do so.
KONYA

Immerse yourself in Turkish culture and visit Konya, one of Turkey's oldest continuously inhabited cities and the capital of the Seljuk Turks from the 12th to the 13th centuries.

The Mevlâna Museum in Konya, is the mausoleum of Jalal ad-Din Muhammad Rumi, a Persian Sufi mystic also known as Mevlâna or Rumi. It was also the dervish lodge of the Mevlevi order, better known as the whirling dervishes. Mevlana Dergahı (Dervish Lodge) which is presently used as a museum formerly the Rose Garden of the Seljuks Palace it was given as a gift to Mevlana's father Sultanü'l-Ulema Bahaaeddin Veled by Sultan Alaeddin Keykubad. When Sultanü'l-Ulema died, he was buried in the present grave which is in the mausoleum. This was the first burial ever to take place in the Rose Garden.

Mevlevi Derhgahı and the mausoleum started to function as a museum in 1926 under the name of Konya Museum of Historical Works. In 1954 the display pattern of the museum was once more taken up and it was renamed as the Mevlevi Museum. As one of Turkey's most popular tourist destinations, one cannot leave Konya without visiting this historic museum.

Famous Aladdin Mosque, the great masterpiece of Seljuk Period is the oldest and biggest mosque in Konya. It is located on the Aladdin Hill which has a meteoric landscape. Also it was built by grand architecture Mehmet bin Havlan in 1556 and completed during the reign of Seljuk Sultan Aladdin Keykubat I which reflects the people this glorious mosque. Visitors are allowed to see the tombs of Sultans such as Mesut I, Kılıç Arslan, Rükneddin Suleiman II, Gıyaseddin Keyhüsref, Alaaddin Keykubad I and Gıyaseddin Keyhüsrev.

Enjoy a memorable evening with the Whirling Dervish show at the Mevlana Cultural Center in Konya. The Mevlevi sema (seh-MAH), has dervishes in long white dresses whirling ecstatically for a quarter hour at a time to the drone of ancient hymns. The sema is derived from Rumî's habit of occasionally whirling in ecstatic joy in the streets of Konya, capital of the Seljuk Turkish Sultanate of Rum, and his home for the greater part of his life. Take some time to explore the exhibition where many Ottoman and Seljuk art forms are exhibited along with local tastes before the show and then enjoy this immense experience.
CAPPADOCIA TOUR

This tour covers some of the main attractions of Cappadocia. You will explore the most famous valleys (Devrent and Pasabag) and experience the stunning panoramic views of Göreme.

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At 9:00 am you will check-out and be picked up from your hotel to begin the trip by minivan to Cappadocia. Before arriving to Cappadocia, you will make a stop to visit the stunning Sultan Hani Caravanserai, as seen on the Turkish television series Diriliş: Ertuğrul.

Sultan Hani Caravanserai is the largest so called "hotel" in Anatolia from nearly a thousand years ago. It is the same caravanserai that is mentioned in the series Diriliş: Ertuğrul. Traders on the Silk Road used to stay here for few days before continuing their journeys. It was built by Sultan Alaattin Keykubat I during the Seljuk period, in 1229. It has two sections, one open with a courtyard and another covered. It is the largest of all Seljuk caravansaries in Anatolia. Sultanhan is a monumental caravanserai which looks like a fortress. The entrance is through a huge, geometrically decorated portal. The courtyard is surrounded by an arcade of rooms on the left and covered places on the right. In the middle is a small mosque.

After arriving to Cappadocia and checking into your hotel, you will be taken for a tour of the many rock formations and stunning sites in the city.

Göreme (Esentepe) provides one of the most beautiful panoramic views of Cappadocia and of Göreme Valley in particular. You will enjoy the beauty of the Cappadocian lunar landscape and see unique rock formations with a great shape and colour diversity. In Göreme you will also be taken on a tour with pottery demonstration.

Devrent Valley (also known as Dream valley) doesn't have any rock churches and monasteries, it is famous for lunar landscape with unique rock formations that look like animals (camel, alligator, snakes, seals, etc.) and people (dancers, praying St. Mary, etc.). You will definitely enjoy your walk through these amazing fairy chimneys.

Pasabag Valley has the best collection of fairy chimneys in Cappadocia. These rock formations with twin and even triple rock caps are named mushroom shaped fairy chimneys. The valley is also known as Monk's Valley due to the monks who used to take refuge here. A chapel dedicated to St. Simeon and a hermit’s shelter has been built into one of the fairy chimneys with three caps; it is possible to visit the inside and climb to the top of it.
CAPPADOCIA TOUR
New Year’s Eve

Enjoy a thrilling hot air balloon flight over the fairy chimneys and rock cut churches and houses of Cappadocia, with transfers from your hotel and a pre-flight breakfast on arrival at the launch site.
The cost of the Hot Air Balloon Tour is not included in the overall price of the tour package.

You will be picked up from your hotel at approximately 4:00 am. As the sun begins to rise, float to an altitude of about 1,000 feet (300 meters) for extraordinary 360-degree views of Cappadocia. The wind will transport you across the valleys and mountains for about 45 minutes to 1-hour, depending on the weather. Marvel at the unique rocks and caves of the region from a bird’s eye perspective. Upon landing, you will receive a personal flight certificate before the transfer back to your hotel at about 07:00 and the start of the rest of your day.

The tour of Cappadocia begins at 9:30 am. You will marvel at incredible monuments from the Goreme Open Air Museum, to Derinkuyu Underground City and Ihlara Valley.

Derinkuyu Underground City is the largest excavated underground city in Turkey, and the deepest one in Cappadocia. Inside there are food stores, kitchens, stalls, churches, ventilation chimneys, water wells and a missionary school. With the depth of 85 m this multi-level city could accommodate up to 20,000 people at the same time.

Derinkuyu Underground City was opened to visitors in 1969 and about half of it is accessible to tourists. Continuing on you will visit Ihlara Valley (4 km trekking) which begins at Ihlara village and ends with the Selime Monastery at Selime village. It was formed by the Melendiz River thousands of years ago. The total length of the canyon is 14 km and the depth is approximately 100 m. Ihlara Valley has many cave churches dated from the 7th to 11th centuries. Most of them are decorated with frescoes in bright colors and display scenes that are different to the scenes depicted in other Cappadocian churches.

Göreme Open-Air Museum is a UNESCO protected site with rock-cut churches and monasteries dating back to the 5th and 13th centuries. There are over 400 churches in Göreme, most of them are with beautiful frescoes whose colors still retain all their original freshness.

Experience Turkish culture and traditions as you’re entertained by the performers in a Turkish Night Show. Enjoy the evening as you take in the show at one of Cappadocia’s cave restaurants on New Year's Eve night. The show begins with a short version of a whirling dervish performance, which will give you an insight into this religious ceremony. Enjoy the delicious Turkish cuisine and live music performed by musicians in traditional costume.
RETURN TO ISTANBUL
New Year’s Day

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel. At 9:00 am you will check-out and be picked up from your hotel to begin the trip by minivan back to Istanbul.

As you travel back to Istanbul, you will stop at the city of Bolu and see the stunning Bolu Lake. This lake is surrounded by forest and is such a breathtaking site for nature lovers and a joy to see such a large and beautiful lake.

Take some time to enjoy the lovely, green scenery, rest and have a bite to eat, and enjoy a cup of Turkish coffee or tea before returning on the road to Istanbul.

Once you have arrived and checked in to your hotel in Istanbul, the remaining part of the evening is free to spend resting or sightseeing as you wish.
DEPARTURE FROM ISTANBUL

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel.

You will be transferred to the airport for your return home.
