Rahmi Koç Müzesi is one of Istanbul's most famous museums, located in the suburb of Haskoy, on the banks of Golden Horn Bay, founded by the famous businessman and industry "Rahmi Koog". The idea was inspired by his visit to the Henry Ford Museum in the States United States of America, which was launched in 1991 and opened to the public on 13 December 1994.
It is the first scientific museum to show the stages of development of transport and communications, industrial equipment, communication tools, electrical appliances and many inventions useful to mankind. It has a unique architectural character and occupies a large area of display.
There are several sections of the museum. There is a road transport exhibition featuring race cars, sports cars, old convertible cars, 4x4s and various motorcycles. In the railway transport exhibition there is the old Istanbul tram, the Sultan transport wagon dating back to 1867 and several types of steam locomotives .
The exhibition includes shipping vessels, lifeboats, boats dating back to 1951, an exhibition of air transport, with aircraft dating back to 1941-1979, aircraft engines and miniature models of various types of aircraft.
The exhibition displays types of 19th-century motors. The exhibition features telegraph, photograph, and sound amplifiers. It features a science exhibition and a puppet show, so the museum is a magnet for tourists who like to learn about the evolution of technology and the tools that people used on Over the ages.
